I got the grand, noble, Doug firs, and pine and cedar room spray sampler. The grand fir was the most fragrant. Smelled so good! Like a Christmas tree! The Doug fir was also true to itself. The others were also pleasant. The Doug and grand firs were so distinctly authentic. I wish the cedar was a little stronger. I love that no fragrance was added to “enhance” or “sweeten “ the experience. I lived in a national forest in Washington for 40 years. I know my smells. Incredible! God job you guys!
Thank you so much Peggy - forty years in a national forest in Washington is about as good a credential as it gets, so this means a lot to hear. Grand Fir is our most citrus-forward and fragrant fir, and I'm glad it came through that way for you. On the Incense Cedar - it's actually our deepest and most complex oil, more of a warm spiced cedar than a sharp woodsy hit, so it can register differently depending on what you're expecting. Worth a second smell with that in mind! Really glad the collection found someone who knows these trees firsthand.

I received the set today. I was most excited for the Ponderosa Pine spray because that is a specific scent that is hard to find. However, I'm surprised to find this one has a very strong citrus note. When I sprayed it and my son happened to walk into the room, he actually thought it was a lemon scented spray. In all the time I've spent in the woods out west, I've never notice strong notes of lemon amongst the Ponderosa Pines. The other ones do in fact smell like their assigned scents. They are extremely earthy. It's clear these are pure oils and not just some commercial junk. However, the free Douglas Fir HydroSol that they included has an especially musty scent and honestly it's not something I want on my body. When it's on my skin, it has almost a sour smell to it. The three stars I am giving are because I do believe they have done exactly what they say they have and truly distilled the scent of the forest into these bottles. But maybe I just didn't realize I love smelling the mix of all of these in the wild of the woods, not necessarily concentrated individually into bottles. It would probably be blasphemy, but I'm almost tempted to try mixing a little of each of them into one bottle to see if I like the blend better.
Thank you Elizabeth for such a thoughtful review. You are not imagining the citrus. Most people get the warm, dry, sweet scent we describe, but in my experience a small number of noses pull a strong lemon note out of Ponderosa - it is rare, but it is real. It is a bit like cilantro: two people can smell the exact same oil and have wildly different perceptions of it. On the Douglas-fir hydrosol, hydrosols are their own thing - subtle, skin-first, closer to a toner than a fragrance, and the scent fades within minutes. I am sorry this one is not sitting right on your skin. And blending is not blasphemy at all. Out in the woods you are never smelling one tree at a time, so mix away.

It was wonderful to be able to support this small business! I love the smell of the forest and to be able to capture the scent and bring it indoors is always wonderful! The shipping was fast and packaged well with a sweet thank you written on the receipt.
The smell itself is not as forestry as I had hoped- there is a very light underlay of almost medicinal hint- which could be part of the tree for all I know. But I will look forward to using it and trying the other scents as well!

Douglas-fir has a naturally bright lemon-lime top note with a slight camphoraceous edge from its terpene profile, which can read that way to some noses. It is 100% the essential oil, nothing added. Glad you are enjoying it and hope the other scents hit the mark for you too!

It's like the smell when you get sap on your hands without the stickiness. As an AVID year round "pine" scented candle/room spray person these were surprising in a great way. Initially I was very confused because you order these knowing they're completely different from traditional pine scented things, but not knowing exactly what that means. Your brain wants to smell the fake pine smells you're used to. After about 30 seconds there's this switch in your mind that instantly takes you to the deepest snow covered forest you've ever been. THANK YOU for this.

I tried the sample set of room/linen sprays and really loved them all. Authentic to the trees they come from and all were very long lasting. Fresh and clean scents!

I bought a set of five, but I only opened the first one so far. This is mind blowing good for me. I grew up in the Pacific Northwest and I really want to smell the forests of my youth. This Douglas fur Room spray is so evocative. WOW!

I was so excited to receive my Ponderosa pine room spray. I shook it. Well it was a bit cloudy, and spritz it on curtains, bed, linens in the air, etc., about 10 spritzes in my bedroom. After five minutes, I could not smell it. I asked my girlfriend to do the same after I did a test spritz 10 more sprays and she thought maybe she detected a little cinnamon in the air. Lovely smell just so we could goes away within minutes. Hope you can strengthen this.
I’m sorry to hear that this didn’t meet your expectations, and I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts. Our room sprays do not contain synthetic fragrances or fixatives and are not intended to be permanent. That said, if you sprayed 10 spritzes in a small space, you should be overwhelmed by the scent after 5 minutes, which indicates to me that something may have gone wrong here. I harvest, distill, bottle, and pack every ounce of product myself, so I take full responsibility if an error was made. We will absolutely make it right if that is the case.
In regard to the smoky appearance, this is the intended appearance of our water-based room spray. You should have received an insert in your package explaining that the white color comes from our vegetable-based emulsifier that allows essential oils to mix with water. In the last two weeks, we have moved to an alcohol-based formula (more similar to perfume) which is clear in appearance.
I will follow up with you privately to ensure we make this right. Thank you again for your feedback, and I sincerly apologize if we have made an error.

When I’m walking or hiking in the Northwest, I try to take in the forest with all my senses - the colors, the sounds, and the scents that make it so unique.
I’m always reaching for a fir or pine needle, or a piece of cedar, to rub between my fingers and breathe in its fragrance. Rogue Evergreens has truly captured that experience.
Many products try to imitate or recreate the smell of nature, but Rogue is different. They capture the essence of actual trees, one tree at a time, rather than blending something that merely smells like a forest. To me, feels more natural, like experiencing the forest itself rather than a manufactured version of it.

There aren't a lot of Ponderosa Pines in the woods that I regularly walk but upon first spray of this room spray, I recognized the unique notes of sweet spice, pine, bark- warm with a bright citrusy finish.

Every Cedar product I have smelled before is harsh and one dimensional. Rouge Evergreens "Incense Cedar" has all of the notes of a real cedar leaf.
I frequently walk trails in the PNW and stop to smell the trees. The feeling of a walk through the woods is relaxing, invigorating and intoxicating. I absolutely love the smell of the woods in my living space.

This is so great to read, thank you! You nailed it - Incense Cedar is the furthest thing from the flat, sharp cedar in most products. The ginger, black pepper, and warm cedar shavings is what you get from the real tree, and I am glad that complexity came through. I harvest and distill every batch myself, so hearing it captures what you actually smell on the trail means a lot.

I love this scent, just like you’re standing in the middle of a forest. I bought it to spritz on my artificial Christmas tree so my husband will stop complaining that it has no scent!! Unfortunately, it lasts a very short time after you spritz it in the air. Maybe it’ll last longer on the tree.

You are right that in open air the scent moves through quickly, since our sprays use no synthetic fragrances or fixatives. On fabric or a tree with all those needles to hold it, it does tend to linger noticeably longer than a quick spritz into the air.

The scent is nice. However, it doesn’t last long, and takes quite a bit of it to even smell it in the room. Disappointed.
