Incense Cedar is the strongest essential oil we distill, and this is the boldest of our five sprays. Deep, complex, and mildly spicy: notes of black pepper and crushed ginger through warm, dry cedar. It's the characteristic scent of the eastern Cascades and the Sierras, and a few sprays go a long way.

Like all our sprays, it's the real thing: our own Incense Cedar essential oil, distilled right here in Oregon, with nothing synthetic in the bottle. Give it a shake and mist the room, a blanket, or the car.

Scent: cedar-forward with black pepper, crushed ginger, and fresh sawdust; a quiet vanilla undertone and a warm, lingering finish.

Organic Cane Alcohol (Ethyl Alcohol), Water, Incense Cedar (Calocedrus decurrens) essential oil, Vegetable Glycerin.

Shake gently. Spray 2 to 4 mists into the air or onto textiles from 8 to 12 inches away. Spot test on an inconspicuous area before spraying fabrics. Avoid silk and leather. Do not spray directly on skin or face.

For external use only. Avoid eyes and mucous membranes. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Do not use on pets or pet bedding. Store tightly capped at room temperature, away from heat and sunlight.

Incense Cedar (Calocedrus decurrens) grows in mixed-conifer forests from California into southern Oregon. It is drought tolerant, straight grained, and aromatic, valued for rot-resistant lumber and classic pencil wood. The aroma is deep and mildly spicy, with clean cedar shavings, fresh sawdust, and crushed ginger, finishing warm with a quiet chai-like impression.

A Walk in the Woods

Every Cedar product I have smelled before is harsh and one dimensional. Rouge Evergreens "Incense Cedar" has all of the notes of a real cedar leaf.
I frequently walk trails in the PNW and stop to smell the trees. The feeling of a walk through the woods is relaxing, invigorating and intoxicating. I absolutely love the smell of the woods in my living space.

This is so great to read, thank you! You nailed it - Incense Cedar is the furthest thing from the flat, sharp cedar in most products. The ginger, black pepper, and warm cedar shavings is what you get from the real tree, and I am glad that complexity came through. I harvest and distill every batch myself, so hearing it captures what you actually smell on the trail means a lot.

If you’d like your home or a closet to smell like an incense cedar grove, this is what you want. Also good to spray on wool dryer balls. Use after the drying cycle ends on a cool setting to give your clothes a natural cedar scent. The key word here is natural!

I like the Cedar Scent, but I don't think it

I like the Cedar Scent, but I don't think it smelled like I expected. Also, when I sprayed it in the bathroom, the smell was so strong but only lasted a while and then it was gone.
The Ponderosa Pine is nice, but it's not really what I want to smell like and I have that in the roll on form.
I love the idea of your scents, but I'm not sure they're something I would wear very often.

The fade is real - our sprays are pure essential oil in organic alcohol with no synthetic fixatives, so they lift faster than other commercial, synthetic options. On the cedar itself, Incense Cedar runs deep and spicy (think black pepper and crushed ginger more than a classic cedarwood), which does catch people off guard. If you find yourself with a bottle that still feels like too much, try a single spritz from further away, or use it in a larger space where it has room to breathe - it does settle down nicely. If you do decide to explore another species, Ponderosa Pine tends to surprise people who find cedar too heavy - it runs warm and sweet (butterscotch, vanilla, soft anise) rather than sharp or intense. The cedar fragrance smells like the real thing. A little goes along way. But I think I would prefer a different fragrance after all. This one is not my favorite.

THANK YOU! I have been buying cedar oils for at least 35 years and always ended up saying "wish they could make something that actually smells like cedar trees." You just became the "They" I have been searching for! I'd buy oil and anything (other than beard oil) with that in it for sure. Bring it on!

It smells like I have a live incense cedar in my house

I grew up in the Pacific Northwest. I'm an avid hiker, camper, nature walker, and work in the forest as a profession. I know my tree smells and have often lamented that I wish someone could bottle the smell of incense cedar, because it's my favorite tree smell and no one gets it quite right. Well guess what? Rogue Evergreen has done it. At long last my search is over!

The scent is outstanding!
I sprayed a very small amount, (one short pumps worth), onto my upholstered living room chair, and my living room became a forested environment in a very short time.
Superior to burning any scented candle or incense.
