The scent most PNW natives grew up around, ready to wear. Douglas-fir opens with notes of lemon-lime, with sticky fir sap and a clean sweet finish - bright, fresh, and incredibly nostalgic.

Each roller is our own 100% pure Douglas-fir essential oil, pre-diluted in organic fractionated coconut oil and ready to roll straight onto skin. Roll it on and carry the forests of the Pacific Northwest with you through the day.

A natural conifer scent wears lighter than a synthetic one and fades sooner - roll on a little more whenever you need a transport back to the woods.

Aroma: sweet evergreen with lemon-lime, green needles, soft wood, clean balsamic finish.

Botanical: Pseudotsuga menziesii, needles and twig tips.

Method: steam distilled essential oil in a pre-diluted roller.

Origin: Oregon, USA.

Base: organic fractionated coconut oil (MCT).

Batch note: small-batch and seasonal; natural variation is part of the character.

Apply to pulse points such as wrists and neck. Start with a small amount and reapply as needed. Patch test before first use and avoid broken or irritated skin. Keep away from eyes and sensitive areas.

A keystone species of Pacific Northwest forests from the coast to the Cascades, Douglas-fir shapes entire ecosystems and the region’s economy, and it even appears on Oregon’s license plate. It is fast growing, long-lived, and a defining timber species as well as a classic Christmas tree. The aroma is our brightest and sharpest conifer profile, with a distinct lemon–lime top note over a sweet, resinous Christmas tree character.

Smells more lemony than fir

I'd like to preface this with the caveat that maybe this is just the roll on i bought because the sample i tried in the shop was excellent but unfortunately the new pack that I bought home with me smells only of lemon, and I can't make out the fir at all

Exactly like smelling a Douglas fir tree in the forest. The rest of the order same excellent quality. I am transported into the woods in the PNW. This is beautiful.

Not as I was hoping for.

I was hoping for a fresh scent of the forest on a hot summer day. Instead it smells more like the pitch in the tree.

I'm sorry to hear that this wasn't what you were hoping for. Our Douglas-fir essential oil is distilled from fresh needles and twigs of Douglas-fir, which do smell quite similar to pitch from the species (though usually a bit brighter and more lemony). Our goal is to capture the authentic aroma of each species we distill, though I understand that will not always align with folks' expectations. I absolutely love your oils!
These scents take me back to a bike trip on Highway 101 from Seattle to San Francisco many years ago. We camped among all these trees, and it immediately took me to that time. I would put tree sap in my hair as hair gel, which was sticky, but it smelled amazing. Your oils are a much better approach to smelling like these wonderful trees. I'll definitely purchase again. A rich smell of a fresh cut Christmas tree. This one last the longest in my opinion, all day and night. Subtle but very enjoyable.
