Founder of Rogue Evergreens

Hunter Stanke

I've been working with trees for most of my life. I planted my first field of Christmas trees when I was 15, and ever since then, I’ve dreamt of finding a way to bottle that smell—the one that hits you when you step into the woods after a rain, place the last ornament on your fresh cut Christmas tree, or walk amongst the giants on the Redwood Coast.

Rogue Evergreens started by accident. Every winter, I wild-harvest boughs to make garlands and wreaths for our Christmas tree farm, and over the years, customers kept telling me they wished they could bathe in the scent. That stuck with me. So I learned to distill the trees I know and love—and now, they can.

I live in Ashland, Oregon, in the Rogue Valley—an area blessed with an incredible diversity of fragrant native conifers. Every oil I make comes from trees harvested here, distilled in small batches to capture the true character of each species. I don’t blend or optimize; I believe there’s beauty and depth in every tree just as it is. My goal is simple: to create products that are an honest snapshot of wild places.

What you smell is what grows here.
